PRESS RELEASE: Special Forces Soldier killed in Afghanistan

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, January 26, 2008) — An Army Special Forces Soldier was killed Jan. 25 as a result of wounds sustained from enemy contact while conducting a combat operation near Barikowt, Afghanistan.

Staff Sgt. Robert J. Miller, 24, a Special Forces weapons sergeant assigned to Company A, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, N.C., received fatal wounds as a result of enemy small arms fire.

Miller is survived by his parents, Philip and Maureen Miller, his brothers, Thomas, Martin and Edward, and his sisters, Joanna, Mary, Therese and Patricia, all from Oviedo, Fla.
