75th Ranger Regiment awarded three campaign streamers for combat deployments
FORT BENNING, GA. (USASOC News Service, June 29 2006) -- Chief of Staff of the Army, Gen. Peter Schoomaker presented three campaign streamers today to the first Army unit to receive the streamers for the Global War on Terrorism conflict, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. 
PRESS RELEASE:  Special Forces Soldier killed in Afghanistan
FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, June 26, 2006) — An Army Special Forces Soldier died June 24 in the Kandahar Province, near Ghecko, Afghanistan when he was fatally struck by enemy small arms fire during a cordon and search mission. 
Asian-Pacific extravaganza celebrates diversity
FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, June 19, 2006) — The U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School spotlighted the rich cultural diversity of our Asian-Pacific American community on Wednesday, 24 May, as it celebrated Asian-American Heritage Month.  The sold-out event centered on this year’s theme - “Dreams and Challenges for Asian Pacific Americans.”
Student Educational Employment Program gives students an opportunity to excell
FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, June 19, 2006) — Since late 2002, Minority College Relations Program in collaboration with U. S. Army Special Operations Command has offered students attending minority universities the opportunity to gain paid, practical experience, in their field of study, by working along with military and civilian professionals under the Student Educational Employment Program.
3rd PSYOP Battalion receives new commander
FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, June 15, 2006) – A change of command ceremony, here, marked the farewell of Lt. Col. Bradley D. Bloom, former battalion commander of 3rd Psychological Operations Battalion (Airborne) (Dissemination) effective today and the welcoming of the new commander, Lt. Col. Brian M. Cavanaugh.
A Sustainment Soldiers’ family commitment
FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, June 13, 2006) – Continuing a family commitment to the nation and marking his 305th airborne jump a Special Operations Forces warrant officer made the occasion even more special by including an 82nd Airborne Division officer, who is his nephew.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, June 10, 2006) — An Army Special Forces Soldier died June 8 in Iraq after a roadside bomb exploded next to his vehicle during a combat patrol. 
Four Night Stalkers Die in MH-47 Helicopter Crash
FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, June 3, 2006) –Four aviators from the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) died and one was injured when their helicopter crashed in Doerun, Ga., around 8 a.m. on June 1, 2006.
Army Helicopter crashes in Southern Georgia (Updated as of 4 P.M., June 1)
FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, June 1, 2006) – An Army MH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed in Colquitt County, GA, at approximately 8:00 a.m. EST June 1 during a routine training flight from Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, Ga., to Fort Rucker, Ala.

Staff Sgt. Tyrone Sumpter, a motor sergeant assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Sustainment Brigade (Special Operations) (Airborne), attempts to maneuver a golf cart known as the “Booze Buggy,” through an obstacle course of safety cones as Andres Martinez, a traffic investigator with the Fayetteville Police Department critiques his progress.  Sumpter was wearing goggles to impair his vision and give him the feeling of being intoxicated.  This was one of many events that took place at the brigade safety day Jun. 30.
