Rangers receive Valorous Unit Award for combat actions
HUNTER ARMY AIRFIELD, Ga. (USASOC News Service, Jan. 27, 2006)—The 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment received its second Valorous Unit Award for combat actions in support of the Global War on Terrorism during a ceremony held Jan.27.

448th CAB aids Iraqis during MEDCAP
AQURQUF, Iraq (USASOC News Service, Jan. 18, 2006) — The residents in Aqurquf, a small village in the Abu Ghreib area of Baghdad , recently received medical assistance from Soldiers in the 448th Civil Affairs Battalion and the 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment during a joint medical-civil affairs program.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, Jan. 3, 2006) — An Army Special Forces Soldier died while conducting a combat raid in the vicinity of Balad, Iraq, when an enemy munitions site exploded while being prepared for demolition.

1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment’s officers competed with the unit’s non-commissioned officers for the title of Turkey Bowl champion. The Turkey Bowl is a flag football game that usually takes place during the Thanksgiving holidays. But since the unit was deployed during that time, the officers and NCOs decided to make up for lost time upon arrival back home. The officers defeated the NCOs 18 to 12 in double overtime, Jan. 26 at Hunter Army Airfield, Ga. (Photo by Paul Prince, USASOC PAO)
