About the USASOC News Service
The USASOC News Service is a product of the U.S. Army Special Operations
Command's Public Affairs Office.
The mission of the USASOC News Service is to serve as the U.S. Army
Special Operations Command's official news Web site and to address all public
information needs relating to Army special operations forces.
News items posted on this site generally will pertain to the U.S. Army
Special Operations Command, but the USASOC News Service will occasionally
feature stories and photos that have an Armywide or joint special operations
interest.
On occasion, stories with an Armywide or DoD focus may be localized for
the special operations community and posted to this site with proper attribution
to the source.
Materials published on this Web site are intended for free use by the
Department of Defense public affairs community, members of civilian media
organizations and the general public. However, our most important
audiences are the Soldiers, civilians and family members of the U.S. Army
Special Operations Command.
Unless otherwise indicated, material available on this site may be
reprinted when credit is given to the author and the USASOC News Service
or other news services, when appropriate.
While this site will not preclude the publishing of command information
news stories by other military publications and/or Web sites, stories and
photos by military personnel concerning Army special operations forces should
be submitted to the USASOC News Service when appropriate.
Army public affairs personnel interested in covering events pertaining
to USASOC are encouraged to comply with Army Regulation 360-1, paragraph
2-3 (3), which stipulates that operational public affairs issues related
to Army special operations forces must be coordinated with the U.S. Army
Special Operations Command's Public Affairs Office.
